Frequently Asked Questions

How does the pawn process work?

The customer brings in an item of value to use as collateral for the loan. Our knowledgeable staff will appraise the value of the item and offer the customer a loan amount. Once the amount is agreed upon our staff will do the necessary paperwork, give you a claim ticket, and your cash.

The loan is for 30 calendar days at 10% interest. For example a loan of $50 would have $5 interest charge per 30 days. So it would cost $55 to redeem your item within the first 30 day period.

If you need more than 30 days, you can pay the interest amount and we will extend the loan for another 30 days. As long as the customer pays the interest we will gladly extend the loan.

If you fall 91 days behind in payments then your item is forfeited and becomes the property of Double Eagle. It will then be sold to recover the cost of the loan.

What items does Double Eagle accept?

1. Firearms and antique weaponry. (Chinese made knives or reproduction swords are not accepted).

2. Gold, Silver, and Platinum. Jewelry, broken jewelry, bullion, and capped teeth*. Plated items cannot be accepted. *(Teeth must have been pulled with consent of their owner)

3. Lap Top Computers. Operating system must be Windows 7 or newer, have an HDMI port, and the charger must be included.

4. TVs. Must be flat screens, no older than 3 years, and include power cord and factory original remote.

5. Video Game Systems. Must be Xbox360, PlayStation3 or newer and include controllers, cables, and power supply. We do not accept Nintendo Wii.

6. Tools, power & hand. We are always looking to buy Snap-On or MAC tools. Harbor Freight, Central Electric, or Central Pneumatic brand tools cannot be accepted.

7. We do NOT accept vehicles, boats, or trailers. We do not have storage for these items.

These are the main items we loan on, however Double Eagle is willing to consider loaning on or buying other items. Bring in your valuable and/or unique item and try to stump our staff.

Is my personal information protected?

Yes. As a licensed pawn broker Double Eagle is required to meet the same confidentiality standards as banks, and credit unions. Our staff is strictly forbidden to disclose any information about a customer and/or their transactions.

How much will I get for my item?

We generally do not give estimates over the phone. Value will depend greatly on the condition and functionality of the item. We need to see it in person to determine an accurate value.

How much is my Gold or Silver worth?

Again we will need to see the item(s) in person to verify the purity and weight of the metal. Our staff will then make an offer based on the current market value. Please note that precious metal prices change daily and this will cause our quoted price to change from day to day. Be assured that Double Eagle will give you the best value on your precious metals.

What is required to pawn a firearm?

Kansas residents may pawn handgun(s), rifle(s), and shotgun(s). Oklahoma residents are limited by law to pawning rifle(s) or shotgun(s). Under Federal law you MUST successfully complete a form 4473 and a background check to claim your firearm(s). ONLY the person that pawned the firearm(s) may claim them, except under certain conditions. If you have any questions or need further information our staff will be glad to help.

If my item is forfeited, can I get it back?

If your item has not been sold and is still in the store, Double Eagle will try to work out an arrangement for you to get your item back. We can NOT guarantee that we will be able to return your item(s).

Please note: We would like to caution our customers against pawning an heirloom item or item with strong sentimental value. There is a chance that financial difficulties may cause you to lose the item, and we do not wish to see that happen.

What steps does Double Eagle take to avoid stolen items?

Kansas state law requires that all items pawned or bought by Double Eagle must be reported daily to the local police department. To meet this requirement we use the L.E.A.D.S. program. An internet based program that allows any law enforcement agency in the United States to review Double Eagles’ reports. Double Eagle also cooperates fully with law enforcement to prosecute any person selling or pawning stolen items in the store. This includes turning over any paperwork and video surveillance related to the crime(s).
